How to paint IBM logo using IndoorNavi?

We have been thinking about an indoor navigation system for a while. Firstly, we developed a solution based on BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) but we wanted to improve that. That’s why we started to think about UWB technology. We obtained funding from Polish National Center of Research and Development and started in January 2017. The whole team involved in the project works every day to bring IndoorNavi to the next level. Research and development work is currently underway, which will enable the demo to be developed. The first results of this work are very promising.

Okay, so how does it work?

IndoorNavi is based on three different parts. The first one is the software – advanced system, which combines server app, algorithms, desktop application, permissions management and analytics options (like heatmaps, which you’ll see in the video below).

Then, we build anchors (grey one). They are meant to transmit and receive signals. It gives a possibility to monitor the position of a thing or a person. All of them are connected together so they are able to have stable and fast connection so the navigation works very well.

The last and smartest device is a tag. It is a light small box filled with electronics and a power supply. You can attach it to anything or carry it in your pocket. What is more, you can directly send message to a tag or receive it. This makes it very easy, for example, to regulate the operation of air conditioning in a room where the computer itself detects how many people are in the room. So it can adjust the power of the air conditioner instantly.

Using this system, we were able to “paint” IBM logo:
